SPRING BOOK FAIR! Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (May 21-23)
During Book Fair week, students will be given the opportunity to browse the selecetion, brought to us by the University Bookstore, and make wish lists to share with the loving adults in their lives. Book Fair will be open for purchases each day after school. More details to come.

For the past 2 years, the DBE Library has been fortunate enough to have been awarded multiple special initiative grants provided by our very generous PTA here at Daniel Bagley Elementary. Most recently we received a grant to revitalize our Gerald and Piggie collection by Mo Willems. At the time of the grant request, the DBE Library had 68 copies of 19 titles that had circulated 4222 times total since the library first began acquiring titles in 2007. Thanks to the PTA, our grant titled “Operation Elephant and Piggie Rescue: Code Name Gerald” added 42 new books to our library’s collection.

Thank you to J. Scott Savage for coming to the DBE Library and spending over an hour with our students! When Mr. Savage arrived early for his presentation, both Ms. Manley’s and Ms. O’s classes were able to meet him and show off our tremendous wall of research that helped prepare us for his visit. We even created a very comprehensive list of questions prior to his arrival. While we did not have time to answer each and every question, students were ready and waiting with their hands raised – so well prepared and engaged!
Mr. Savage shared with us 4 steps to writing a story, inspirational stories of amazing people who have overcome incredible obstacles and we laughed the whole way through his presentation. In addition, I was able to deliver 21 signed and personalized copies of his books to some very fortunate DBE readers today!
