Next year we will be moving our library program to a flexible model of scheduling rather than a fixed model, as it has been for a number of years. The librarian will no longer be providing instruction as a part of the Teacher’s Planning Period. Rather, the librarian will become a partner in learning for the entire DBE Community. While summer in Seattle is ,and should be, filled with hikes, lake swims, beach days, road trips and plenty of time outdoors it is sometime difficult to think of ways to support our learners throughout the summer months. Continued learning does not necessarily mean worksheets, drills and reading logs.
