C4/5s Tackle Voting Rights

In order to prepare ourselves for our CBA (Classroom Based Assessment), we will begin to explore the issue of Voting Rights through the following Glog.  We will be researching Voter IDs and looking at how voting rights are or are not a common good.

Global Reading Challenge

This is our first year as a part of Seattle Public Library’s Global Reading Challenge!  We are so excited to have 7 FULL teams of 4th and 5th grade readers participating.

On January 28, all GRC participants will have the opportunity to go the Downtown branch of the Seattle Public Library to hear Margi Preus talk about her book, The Heart of a Samurai.

Our schedule for remaining practices is:

January

6 – complete notecards for individual reading plans, intro organizational system (stickers), read. Make a list of books that are needed. Permission slips for Field trip.

13 – Return Permission Slips for Field trip, checkin with personal reading plan, read.

20 – Return Permission Slips for Field trip, checkin with personal reading plan, read.
